It is my pleasure to welcome you to the first edition of the monthly NextPharma Customer Newsletter which is designed to bring our customers up to date with the extensive range of outsourcing services that NextPharma has to offer.
In this first edition we are focussing on our packaging capabilities and are delighted to feature our new 'alu alu' blister line and also our new sachet line at our Göttingen site.
In future editions we will be focussing on our development, production and logistics capabilities. We are attending BIO 2006 in Chicago this month, for the first time and look forward to meeting you should you be at this exhibition.

News Update - New ALU/ALU Blister packaging line and Sachet line at NextPharma Göttingen Plant
Our “One Stop” approach to customer service provides our customers with a variety of solutions to meet their short-term and longer-term product development, production, packaging and logistics requirements.
Given increasing market demand for our services, we have made considerable investments at our Göttingen site including a state of the art alu / alu blister packaging line and a sachet line which demonstrates our commitment to providing sought after packaging processes. We also plan to upgrade the Göttingen site to be fully FDA compliant. The first stage in this process is nearly complete and has involved a total refurbishment of our production and packaging facilities.
The alu/alu line has been operational since 1st January 2006 and features:
- A modern, high-performance packaging line with all Quality Control checks
- Ability to process different kinds of alu composite foils
- Ability to perform cross perforation
- Bulk blister packaging with a particular blister-in a box packaging system for easy handling
- Controlled humidity and temperature conditions
Sachets
NextPharma is one of the very few CMO's offering this technology on a large scale basis. This investment provides our customers with innovative technology (micro granules in sachets) and access to modern production processes. It includes the opportunity for:
- Two different quick dissolving granulates/powders in one sachet
- Taste masking (very important to bitter tasting products - e.g. Paracetamol)
- Micro dosage as from 100 - 150 mg/sachet
- Single and double sachets
- Inline packaging into secondary packs
- High performance facilities with wide ranging format spectrum
